The butt weld tee is a pipe fitting used to form a branch connection from a main pipeline. It has a straight run, a branch outlet, and butt-weld ends for direct welding to adjoining pipe. The fitting can be made in equal or reducing configurations, depending on whether the branch keeps the same nominal size as the run or changes to a smaller size. After installation, the welded joints become part of the continuous piping system. Its simple branch structure avoids threaded or bolted connections at the tee ends and keeps the connection area relatively compact.

Main Applications
• The butt weld tee is used in petroleum and chemical piping that relies on welded branch connections.
• Natural-gas and power lines with permanent branch take-offs.
• Shipbuilding and offshore piping assemblies.
• Municipal, fire-protection, sewage-treatment, and utility lines.
Our Factory
The factory has 83 technical staff and around 450 sets of production equipment. Major equipment includes 6,000-ton, 4,000-ton, and 2,500-ton hydraulic presses plus a 2,000-ton universal pushing machine. The plant can press tees up to Φ2400 mm and handles carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel fittings. The butt weld tee can be scheduled by material and batch.

FAQ
Q: How should a reducing tee size be written?
A: Use the run × branch format with wall thickness and material grade.
Q: Can different steel grades be packed in one shipment?
A: Yes. Keep each grade separated and clearly marked.
Q: What should be checked before shop welding?
A: Confirm marking, end condition, and the spool drawing before welding.
