The mild steel tee is a low-carbon steel fitting that divides or joins a pipe route through three welded connections. The branch can match the run diameter or use a smaller outlet. Its ends are prepared to suit the adjoining pipe and the required welding procedure. Low-carbon steel suits familiar workshop fabrication, while the selected grade still has to meet the actual service specification. Rust-preventive oil or a project coating can be agreed for delivery. The fitting is used in utility and process assemblies where branch geometry, wall schedule and exposure protection need to remain consistent with the surrounding pipework.
