Elbows are a common type of pipe fitting used in plumbing installations. They are used to connect pipes at bends, changing the direction of the pipe.
Other names: 90° elbow, right-angle bend, elliptical bend, stamped elbow, pressed elbow, machine-made elbow, welded elbow, etc.
Applications: Connecting two pipes with the same or different nominal diameters, allowing the pipeline to make turns of 90°, 45°, 180°, and various other degrees.
A bend radius less than or equal to 1.5 times the pipe diameter is classified as an elbow; a bend radius greater than 1.5 times the pipe diameter is classified as a pipe bend.
